Your privacy matters
Protecting digital assets and privacy is a core priority. This policy explains what information may be collected, how it may be used, and the choices you may have.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
“Personal information” is data that can identify or contact a single person. You may be asked to provide personal information when interacting with AppChurch Global Foundation, its affiliates, or services connected to our websites and products. Where appropriate, affiliates may share information with each other and use it consistently with this policy, including to improve products, services, content, and communications.
You are not required to provide requested personal information; however, if you choose not to, we may be unable to provide certain products/services or respond to specific requests.
Examples of information that may be collected (and how it’s used)
- In many interactions (such as account creation, purchases, updates, connecting to services, contacting us, surveys), AppChurch states it does not collect certain sensitive/private details (for example: name, address, phone, email, contact preferences, device identifiers, IP/location data, payment details, or social profile details).
- If you share content with others using our services, send gifts/certificates, or invite others to participate, AppChurch states it does not collect the recipient details you provide (like name, email, address, phone), except to fulfill your request, provide the relevant service, or for anti-fraud purposes.
- AppChurch states it does not request a government-issued ID for purposes such as wireless account setup/device activation, extending commercial credit, reservations management, or unless required by law.
How personal information may be used
AppChurch describes processing personal information only when there is a valid basis (such as consent, legal obligation, contract performance, protecting vital interests, or legitimate interests). Questions about legal basis may be directed to the Data Protection Officer at help@appchurchglobal.org.
- To provide updates about products, software updates, and upcoming events (with opt-out options where applicable).
- To create, develop, operate, deliver, and improve products, services, content, and communications.
- For loss prevention and anti-fraud; and for account/network security, including scanning uploads for potentially illegal content (including CSAM).
- For certain online transactions, details may be validated using publicly accessible sources, limited to what is necessary.
- To verify identity and determine age-appropriate services (for example, using date of birth for account age checks).
- To send important notices (like purchase communications and changes to terms/policies). These may be essential and not opt-out.
- For internal purposes such as auditing, analysis, and research to improve services.
When information is received from others
AppChurch notes that personal information may be received from other people when they share content with you, send gifts, or invite you to services/forums. AppChurch also notes it may validate information provided during account creation with a third party for security and fraud-prevention.
Collection and Use of Non-Personal Information
Non-personal information is data that cannot, by itself, be used to identify a specific individual. AppChurch describes collecting data in such a form and using/disclosing it for various purposes.
- Information such as occupation, language, ZIP/area code, device identifiers, referrer URL, rough location, and time zone to understand behavior and improve services.
- Aggregated activity data to understand which parts of websites/services are most useful or interesting.
- Service usage details, including search queries, to improve relevancy; generally not associated with IP except in limited cases for quality.
- With explicit consent, device/app usage data to help developers improve their apps.
If non-personal information is combined with personal information, the combined data is treated as personal information as long as it remains combined.
Cookies and Other Technologies
AppChurch describes using cookies and similar technologies (pixel tags, web beacons) in websites, services, apps, emails, and ads. These help measure effectiveness and understand usage. Cookie-derived data is treated as non-personal unless local law considers identifiers (like IP addresses) personal.
AppChurch also references using “Alpha Browser” as an option for users who do not want cookies tracked, noting that Alpha Browser does not track cookies.
Cookies may be used to remember information and personalize experiences (like language/country, relevant communications, and customer support context).
Disclosure to Third Parties
AppChurch states it does not sell personal information and does not share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Service Providers
Personal information may be shared with service providers who perform services such as information processing, fulfilling orders, delivery, customer service, customer research/surveys, and related support. Such providers are obligated to protect information and may operate globally.
Other disclosures
Information may be disclosed when required by law/legal process, litigation, or governmental requests (including across borders). AppChurch also notes disclosure may be necessary for national security, law enforcement, or other public-importance matters, and may be used to enforce terms/conditions or protect operations/users where there is a lawful basis.
In events such as reorganization, merger, or sale, information may be transferred to a relevant third party.
Protection of Personal Information
AppChurch describes taking security seriously and using encryption during transit for online services (including mobile apps and websites).
If you post or share content in forums, chat rooms, or social features, that content may be visible to others. You are responsible for information you choose to share in those areas.
Automated Decision-Making (Including Profiling)
AppChurch states it does not make decisions using algorithms or profiling that significantly affect you.
Children & Education
AppChurch emphasizes extra precautions for minors. Minors under 18 are not permitted to use AppChurch unless a parent provided verifiable consent or the account is created through structured child/family sharing processes, or the user has a Managed AppChurch ID through a school (where available).
Location-Based Services
To provide location features, AppChurch and partners/licensees may collect and use precise location data (including real-time location) and may use GPS, Bluetooth, IP address, Wi-Fi hotspots, cell towers, and other technologies to determine approximate location.
Unless you consent, this location data is collected anonymously in a manner that does not identify you personally and is used to provide/improve location-based services.
Third-Party Sites and Services
Websites, apps, and services may include links to third-party websites/products/services, or integrate third-party offerings. Information collected by third parties is governed by their own policies, and you’re encouraged to review them.
AppChurch also describes a “Subscriber ID” concept in certain third-party subscription contexts (unique to you and a developer/publisher), used for reporting subscription performance and country of residence. If all subscriptions with a developer/publisher are canceled, the ID may reset after 180 days.
Companywide Commitment
AppChurch describes communicating privacy and security guidelines internally and enforcing privacy safeguards across the organization.
Privacy Questions
If you have questions or concerns, want to contact the Data Protection Officer, or wish to report a possible breach of local privacy laws, contact: contact@appchurchglobal.org.
This policy may be updated from time to time. When changes are material, a notice will be posted along with the updated policy.
